This book provides a thorough overview of the evolution of privacy-preserving machine learning schemes over the last ten years, after discussing the importance of privacy-preserving techniques. In response to the diversity of Internet services, data services based on machine learning are now available for various applications, including risk assessment and image recognition. In light of open access to datasets and not fully trusted environments, machine learning-based applications face enormous security and privacy risks. In turn, it presents studies conducted to address privacy issues and a series of proposed solutions for ensuring privacy protection in machine learning tasks involving multiple parties. In closing, the book reviews state-of-the-art privacy-preserving techniques and examines the security threats they face.

Due to recent advances in laparoscopic gastrectomy for gastric cancer, a high-resolution atlas in this field was felt necessary. This book describes the laparoscopic surgical procedure and precautions of lymph node (LN) dissection, comprehensively. The details of preoperative preparation, regional LN dissection, and digestive tract reconstruction are introduced based on a large numbers of clinical cases. A large number of researchers have taken the lead in studying translation from the perspectives of comparative literature, ethics, sociology, and narratology. On the other hand, translation has become one of the ways to introduce China to the world, which can effectively realize the cultural convergence between China and other countries. This book covers those theoretical perspectives employed in research on the translations of Chinese fiction and the dissemination of Chinese culture.

The book focuses on the following research questions: what kind of the Chinese family culture reconstructed, how to reconstruct the Chinese family culture and its influence on China and the English-speaking countries. The research found that with the influence of the social environment during the first half of the 20th century, such major translators as sinologists, foreign journalists, and Chinese writers have reconstructed the Chinese family culture shaped by their chosen Chinese fiction including the ancient and modern Chinese fictions with faithful and rewriting translation strategies. In all, the English translations of Chinese fictions have reproduced, represented, and rewrote the Chinese family culture shaped by the originals.

Since 2012, industrial overcapacity has become an increasingly serious problem in China, against the backdrop of domestic economic slowdown and continued downturn in international markets. Overcapacity is widespread in the traditional manufacturing sector, particularly in iron and steel, cement, electrolytic aluminium, flat glass, and ship-building industries. It is also grave in emerging industries such as polysilicon, solar cells, and wind power equipment. This book provides an overview on the overcapacity problem facing China and examines the main characteristics of overcapacity in some important industries. The book identifies two types of overcapacity: one is excess capacity that results from natural supply-demand dynamics or cyclical economic fluctuations under a relatively sound market system; the other is overcapacity caused by the overinvestment of enterprises under a flawed economic system. It probes into how overcapacity is caused and finds two contributors — change of growth model and institutional flaws. It explores to establish a long-term mechanism for solving the problem. The book concludes that China should establish a long-term mechanism to prevent and resolve overcapacity, and to establish healthy relationship between the market and the government.
