L'implant zygomatique est une fixation en titane de grande longueur qui est plac e travers l'aspect osseux crestal du maxillaire post rieur r sorb , de mani re transantrale dans l'os compact du zygoma.

Das Jochbeinimplantat ist eine praktikable Alternative f r die Behandlung von Patienten mit extremer Resorption des zahnlosen und resorbierten Oberkiefers. Bevor das Jochbein-Implantat von Per-Ingvar Br nemark eingef hrt wurde, konnten implantatgetragene oder retinierte festsitzende oder herausnehmbare Prothesen im atrophierten Oberkiefer nur nach einer umfangreichen Kieferkamm-Pr paration in Betracht gezogen werden. Das Zygoma-Implantat ist eine verl ngerte Titanhalterung, die durch den krestalen Knochenaspekt des resorbierten hinteren Oberkiefers transantral in den kompakten Knochen des Zygoma eingesetzt wird.

Diese Dissertation beleuchtet die verschiedenen Abformtechniken, ihre Vor- und Nachteile bei der Herstellung von implantatgetragenem Zahnersatz sowie die Auswahl einer geeigneten Technik f r die jeweilige klinische Situation.

L'empreinte de l'implant est l'une des tapes les plus importantes pour obtenir un ajustement passif en reliant avec pr cision un analogue de l'implant ou du pilier de l'implant aux autres structures de l'arcade dentaire. De plus, la pr cision de l'empreinte est influenc e par le choix du porte-empreinte, la technique d'empreinte et le type de mat riau d'empreinte, le nombre et l'angulation des implants. L'impronta implantare una delle fasi pi importanti per ottenere l'adattamento passivo, mettendo in relazione accurata l'analogo dell'impianto o del pilastro implantare con le altre strutture dell'arcata dentale. L'accuratezza dell'impronta inoltre influenzata dalla scelta del portaimpronte, dalla tecnica di impronta e dal tipo di materiale da impronta, dal numero e dall'angolazione degli impianti. Nell'ultimo decennio si sviluppata una variet di tecniche di impronta per la realizzazione di protesi supportate da impianti. La scelta di una tecnica specifica dipende dalla valutazione di un particolare paziente e dalla situazione clinica presente. Questa tesi mette in evidenza le varie tecniche di presa d'impronta, i loro pregi e difetti nella realizzazione di protesi su impianti e anche la scelta di una tecnica appropriata per la corrispondente situazione clinica presente.

"The face is the mirror of the soul and eyes without speaking confess the secret of the heart". The eye is a vital organ in terms of vision and also an important feature of facial expression. The loss or the absence of an eye can be caused by several factors like congenital defect, trauma, tumour, a painful blind eye, sympathetic ophthalmic or the need for histological confirmation of a suspected diagnosis. The disfigurement associated with loss of an eye can cause significant physical and emotional problems. Most patients experience significant stress, due to primarily adjusting to the functional disability caused by the loss and to societal reactions to the facial impairment.

Implant impression is one of the most important steps in achieving passive fit by accurately relating an analogue of the implant or implant abutment to the other structures in the dental arch. Further the accuracy of impression is affected by the selection of impression tray, impression technique and type of impression material, number and angulation of implants. A variety of impression techniques for the fabrication of implant supported prosthesis have evolved in the past decade. Selection of a specific technique depends on the evaluation of a particular patient and the clinical situation present. This dissertation highlights the various techniques of impression making, their merits and demerits in the fabrication of implant supported prosthesis and also the selection of an appropriate technique for the corresponding clinical situation present.
