Prosthodontic management of sleep apnea involves the use of oral appliances to maintain an open airway during sleep, primarily for patients with mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). These appliances, such as mandibular advancement devices (MADs), help reposition the lower jaw forward, preventing airway collapse. This treatment is often preferred by patients who cannot tolerate continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy. Prosthodontic interventions can significantly improve sleep quality and reduce apneic events, offering a non-invasive alternative to surgical options.
