In this illustrated book, with texts and images compiled by Johannes Fiebig, the Tarot cards become psychological mirrors and signposts leading toward new answers and personal solutions. The fact that this works well can be attributed to certain advantages inherent to the Waite-Smith cards, and these points are illuminated in an essay by Rachel Pollack. All 78 cards are presented individually and in detail. The explanatory texts provide several dimensions and levels of interpretation, including concrete practical tips. Further, the book offers a new feature: the quick check. This presents a concise hint regarding the meaning of each card in each possible position of all the spread patterns featured in the book. When Arthur E. Waite and Pamela Colman Smith developed their Tarot deck in London in 1909, nobody could have predicted that it would have an overwhelming renaissance starting around 60 years later. What were the lives, works, and passions of these creators like? Pamela Colman Smith and Arthur E. Waite are brought vividly back to life in essays by Mary K. Greer and Robert A. Gilbert.

A tarot reading lies open before us, all of its images laid out on the table. Yet at the same time, they form a labyrinth, not simply a puzzle to be decoded but also a complex pathway deep into ourselves. In Tarot: The Open Labyrinth, Rachel Pollack presents interpretations and commentaries on a collection of readings. The approach is exhaustive yet specific, going steadily deeper into the person’s concerns in a context of light and dark, the Magician and the High Priestess. Through a recognition of this context, the subject and the reader open up their lives. In her classic Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom, Rachel Pollack described how we can form meditation patterns—tarot mandalas—to help us go beyond the reading itself. In this book, she gives examples of these mandalas and describes how people involved use them and their experiences. First published in 1986 by the Aquarian Press and long out of print, Tarot: The Open Labyrinth is for readers who wish to take their reading to the next level by learning from the master. Rachel Pollack writes that this book is intended to tell us “how the Tarot can help us answer specific questions, act as a tool for psychological analysis, and tell us how to overcome problems.”

"For forty years," writes Neil Gaiman, "Rachel Pollack has been one of the finest writers and thinkers about tarot, and A Walk Through the Forest of Souls feels like a distillation of everything she has been trying to get us to see. A must for people who want the tarot in their lives or just for people like me who want it in our stories." The author of beloved tarot classic Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom presents a magical journey that illuminates tarot's many hidden meanings, leading readers on an exploration of their own spiritual and personal path. In over 350 illustrations, Pollack presents samples of tarot cards ranging from the 15th-century Sforza to contemporary decks. Taking advantage of the tarot's most distinctive feature--its artistry--this book creates a breathtaking overview as we walk with Pollack through the landscape of tarot. In words and images we're shown how to explore unknown territory--in ourselves and in the world outside us, and in the sacred mysteries and riddles of existence. Using symbols and myths to illuminate the hidden mysteries and spiritual truths of the tarot, Rachel Pollack explores the connections and relationships between tarot and such wide-ranging subjects as mythology, mythography, folklore, Kabbalah, divination, quantum physics, time travel, and more. A Walk Through the Forest of Souls is a dazzling journey through the mysteries of tarot--suitable for tarot masters, but accessible to newcomers, too. This book was previously published in 2002 under the title Forest of Souls: A Walk Through the Tarot. This new edition has been extensively revised and updated.

Often referred to as the "bible of tarot books" it has now helped to launch the "tarot renaissance" we're seeing today. Drawing on mythology and esoteric traditions and delving deeply into the symbolism and ideas of each card, the book offers a modern psychological interpretation of the tarot archetypes rather than a system of esoteric symbolism. 'No, I was not trapped in the wrong body. I was trapped in the wrong universe. In order to become who I was, I had to break the world open.’ Trans Central Station reflects on a trans life lived before the language to name it. In this luminous autobiographical essay, award-winning science fiction and fantasy author and tarotist Rachel Pollack moves between personal memory, history, science fiction and myth to consider how words can both restrict and liberate. From Schrödinger’s cat and science-fiction portals to magic, early trans activism and comics, Trans Central Station breaks the world open to ‘both completely new and unknowably ancient’ possibilities of desire, joy and revelation. Situating trans existence within deep time, Pollack connects modern experience to shamanism and rites of transformation, insisting that trans people have always existed – and have often been understood as sacred figures. In this meditation on freedom – from rigid social structures, from fear and shame, and from history itself – to be trans is proof of ancient and ongoing cosmic power.

From the renowned author of Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom, widely referred to as the "tarot bible," this deck and guide book invite readers to join the "shining tribe" of diviners and take the timeless sacred journey of self-discovery. "All of us who work with Tarot form a kind of tribe, one whose roots go back many thousands of years before the actual appearance of Tarot cards. This is the tribe of diviners, those special magicians, shamans, psychics, and visionaries who use cards, or sticks, or trees, or stones, or shells to communicate with the Gods."--Rachel Pollack Human beings have practiced the art of divination for millennia. In some cultures, diviners studied patterns in nature--the flight of birds, the forms of clouds, or the arrangement of the stars in the night sky. In others, they created elaborate divinatory systems such as the I Ching and the Tarot. Drawing from the legacy of 50,000 years of human encounters with the Divine, renowned Tarot scholar Rachel Pollack has created The Shining Tribe Tarot. The Shining TribeTarot cards are steeped in symbolism drawn from culturally diverse systems including Neolithic rock art, Native American and African shamanism, Aboriginal art, the Kabbalah, Jungian psychology, and the traditional Tarot. The accompanying book includes detailed descriptions of the origin and history of the symbols depicted on each card of this unique deck, as well as explanations of their meanings in divinatory spreads. The minor arcana is focused in nature with the suits represented by stones, rivers, trees, and birds. You will learn how to read the cards for a variety of purposes, including divination, advice, and guidance along your own personal sacred journey. Lessons are also shared to gain insights into the nightly messages from your subconscious mind through dream readings and how to activate a card to bring its qualities into your everyday life. Rachel Pollack invites you to join the shining tribe of diviners and visionaries. As you continue along the sacred journey of self-discovery, let the Shining Tribe Tarot cards shine a path for you. The Shining Tribe Tarot was previously published in 2001 by Llewellyn Publications. This Weiser Books edition includes color corrections to the card art as directed by Rachel Pollack and five new cards not available in the previous edition (including 1 addition to the Major Arcana and 1 extra card in each of the Minor Arcana suits). The accompanying book has been revised and expanded and, for the first time, is printed in full color.

Starting in 1989, Doom Patrol evolved into something truly bizarre and brilliant with some of the most unique ideas in fiction given shape. The book was part of a wave of unbridled creativity that helped inspire the creation of DC s groundbreaking Vertigo imprint, and its impact is still felt today in the HBO Max Doom Patrol original series. In 1993, writer Rachel Pollack took over Doom Patrol from Grant Morrison, and quickly made the title her own retaining its offbeat spirit while pushing its characters in new directions, and tackling important social issues in the Doom Patrol s thoroughly unconventional way. This hardcover omnibus is the first-ever collection of Pollack s run on Doom Patrol. In these stories, the Doom Patrol must pull themselves together yet again as they move into a bizarre new headquarters, gain two new members and try to cope with the preteen menace known as the Wild Girls! Then, artist Ted McKeever brings his surreal sensibility to the series, bringing it to a fittingly unique conclusion. This volume collects Doom Patrol #64-87, Doom Patrol Annual #2, Totems #1, and Vertigo Jam #1.

Tap into your sixth sense and become a better, more confident tarot reader. Most all tarot books present card-by-card interpretations as well as an instruction on how to read spreads. This book takes the next logical step inward by presenting the art of reading in a workbook format, and helps you learn to interpret the cards intuitively. The book falls into two parts. The first part concerns learning about the cards, and includes exercises for each card that teaches you to trust your interpretation of the card. The second part helps you develop that ability, a skill that Reed calls "intuition." All the exercises, stories, card meanings, and techniques really serve one purpose: to go beyond learning Tarot to living it. It's not enough to memorize the meanings of the cards, and you can't do a reading with a workbook at your side forever. In order to deliver a meaningful, accurate tarot reading, you need to hone your intuition. Without a comfortable connection to your sixth sense, the tarot readings lack finesse and becomes nothing more than cookie-cutter interpretations. When you're fluent in your intuition, you can develop better readings and unique interpretations for each person. In this book, Reed teaches by example. She presents the basics of intuitive tarot reading--reading without any questions, any backstory, anything to go on. This book is filled with exercises to hone your intuition and sharpen your interpretation skills.
