"Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics" is an exhaustive resource that provides a thorough understanding of the quantitative aspects of biopharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics. The book is carefully designed to meet the requirements of the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) syllabus, ensuring that students have access to a comprehensive guide that covers all essential topics. The authors have made a concerted effort to present complex concepts in a simple and easy-to-understand manner, using illustrations and practice problems to reinforce learning. The pharmacokinetics section is particularly detailed, with stepwise derivations of mathematical expressions and additional resources such as definitions, explanations, and practice problems. Each chapter concludes with a range of assessment tools, including multiple-choice questions, short answer questions, and long answer questions, to help students evaluate their knowledge and prepare for examinations.

The first time Ravi Shankar was arrested, he spoke out against racist policing on National Public Radio and successfully sued the city of New York. The second time, he was incarcerated when his promotion to full professor was finalized. During his ninety-day pretrial confinement at the Hartford Correctional Center--a level 4, high-security urban jail in Connecticut--he met men who shared harrowing and heart-felt stories. The experience taught him about the persistence of structural racism, the limitations of mass media, and the pervasive traumas of twenty-first-century daily life. Shankar's bold and complex self-portrait--and portrait of America--challenges us to rethink our complicity in the criminal justice system and mental health policies that perpetuate inequity and harm. Correctional dives into the inner workings of his mind and heart, framing his unexpected encounters with law and order through the lenses of race, class, privilege, and his bicultural upbringing as the first and only son of South Indian immigrants. Vignettes from his early life set the scene for his spectacular fall and subsequent struggle to come to terms with his own demons. Many of them, it turns out, are also our own.

Each reading of your palm a different road verging from soil and forking into possibilities in a wild and foreign ocean no vaster than the line it makes with the sky In The Many Uses of Mint Ravi Shankar resuscitates old poetic traditions while breathing new forms into life; he translates the ancients and collaborates with living artists and writers; and he peers through spirit at the secrets of the luminous universe. His work, over time, proves that by partaking of formalism, philosophical inquiry, musicality and play, language's wet clay can be shaped into artifacts of exceeding beauty and lasting resonance.

Eighth century Tamil poet and founding saint Andal is believed to have been found as a baby underneath a holy basil plant in the temple garden of Srivilliputhur. As a young woman she fell deeply in love with Lord Vishnu, composing fervent poems and songs in his honor and, according to custom, eventually marrying the god himself. The Autobiography of a Goddess is Andal's entire corpus, composed before her marriage to Vishnu, and it cements her status as the South Indian corollary to Mirabai, the saint and devotee of Sri Krishna. The collection includes the Thiruppavai, a song still popular in congregational worship, thirty pasuram (stanzas) sung before Lord Vishnu, and the less-translated, rapturously erotic Nacchiyar Thirumoli. Priya Sarrukai Chabria and Ravi Shankar serve as master translators for the volume, employing a radical new method for that revitalizes classical and spiritual verse by shifting it into a new contemporary poetic idiom in English. Many of Andal's pieces are translated collaboratively, giving readers multiple perspectives on the rich sonic and philosophical complexity of classical Tamil. Andal: The Autobiography of a Goddess is a powerful expression of female sexuality in the Indian spiritual tradition-one newly available to a general readership in this fresh new translation.
