This new kind of OB product,Organizational Behavior: Real Solutions to Real Challenges, came from our increasing recognition of the challenges faced by former students working in contemporary organizations today. Those graduates tell us that they are ultimately challenged most by the “people problems” in their work. So, we wanted our current students to understand that reality and to exposure them to the best current evidence and thinking about how informed people attack those challenges. Our charge was to create a product that focused on real solutions to real challenges in the real world. We have drawn on many sources including the Management & Organizational Behavior Teaching Society (MOBTS) and the Teaching and Learning Conference (TLC) of the Academy of Management.
Exploring Richard Avedon?s fascination with France, Avedon?s France brings together a collection of spectacular photographs; selected interviews, letters, publications, and writings (including new material from the Avedon Foundation archives); and substantive essays by the authors. In addition to five portfolios of French sitters spanning a lifetime of portraiture, it looks at Avedon?s apprenticeship to his mentor, Alexei Brodovitch; his encounters with French fashion; his idealized version of Paris in the movie Funny Face; his fresh take on the belle epoque in his book on Jacques-Henri Lartigue, Diary of a Century; and his fruitful association with the magazine Egoïste later in his life. Avedon?s France offers a full account of Avedon?s restless pursuit of new ways of looking at the world, and it reveals a master image maker, a true artist for his time.
Calder in France, produced in collaboration with the Calder Foundation, is a tribute to Alexander Calder that focuses on the modern artist's long-standing relationship with France, beginning with his years in Paris from 1926 to 1933, during which time the artist firmly established his imprint on the avant-garde scene. After the war, Calder spent significant periods of time in Paris, Aix-en-Provence, and finally in Sach , where he would design his final monumental studio in 1963 that became in 1989 the Atelier Calder residency program. The revue contains images of Calder's work, interviews with Tadashi Kawamata, Abraham Cruzvillegas, and Rachel Harrison, a selection of images of past residents' work, and a special portfolio of models for new sculptures by 2014 resident Monika Sosnowska, highlights on Calder's relationship with former Cahiers d'Art publisher Christian Zervos through reproduction of pivotal essays on Calder published during the artist's lifetime, texts by Alexander S. C. Rower, Calder's grandson and President of the Calder Foundation, Susan Braeuer Dam, Director of Research and Publications at the Calder Foundation, and contributions by Alfred Pacquement, Rapha l Bouvier, Robert Rubin, and Hans-Ulrich Obrist. Accompanying the texts will be defining photographs of Calder and his work by Ugo Mulas and also Agnes Varda, with an interview by art historian Joan Simon.
