The King in Yellow by Robert W. Chambers. The King in Yellow is a book of short stories by American writer Robert W. Chambers, first published by F. Tennyson Neely in 1895. The fictional play The King in Yellow, has at least two acts and at least three characters: Cassilda, Camilla and "The Stranger", who may or may not be the title character. Chambers borrowed the names Carcosa, Hali and Hastur from Ambrose Bierce: specifically, his short stories "An Inhabitant of Carcosa" and "Haita the Shepherd". There is no strong indication that Chambers was influenced beyond liking the names. For example, Hastur is a god of shepherds in "Haita the Shepherd", but is implicitly a location in "The Repairer of Reputations", listed alongside the Hyades and Aldebaran.
The great horror - sci-fi writer, editor and literary agent Forrest J Ackerman made an office and museum in his famed Ackermansion in the Griffith Park area of the Hollywood Hills of California underneath the observatory. On Saturday nights he would have his closest friends and guests gather together in the upper residence area of his mansion to share pizza or Zankou chicken and sit in the great living room and take turns reading their favorite horror, fantasy and science fiction stories out loud. These stories became the Tales of the Dark Forrest and have been re-recorded with music and effects to be enjoyed by Ackerman's fans and fans of great horror, fantasy and science fiction stories everywhere. These books have been published to complement the audio series. All of these recordings are available as MP3 downloads with book purchase.

The Hidden Children Volume 1 By Robert W. Chambers Gender roles in the American Revolutionary War period were not exactly a bastion of progressiveness. However, even during a time when most women were encouraged to shrink from conflict and follow the lead of any man in the vicinity, there were a few iconoclastic females who broke this mold. The defiantly independent heroine at the center of The Hidden Children steadfastly refuses to be held down by social conventions she sees as useless.
