Ci sono due modi di utilizzare le lamiere d'acciaio e le lamiere FRP per il rinforzo o il ripristino dei membri del calcestruzzo. Ognuno di questi due metodi la non standardizzazione di questi materiali con il calcestruzzo e la mancanza di coordinamento nel loro modo e caratteristiche. Le prime ricerche hanno dimostrato che il nuovo materiale HPFRCC che principalmente un calcestruzzo ad alta resistenza con acciaio, vetro, aramide e fibra di carbonio ha un coordinamento comportamentale adeguato con il calcestruzzo e pu aumentare la resistenza del calcestruzzo dal punto di vista della flessione e della sezione come questi due altri materiali.
