The year is 1941, and the world is engulfed in war. Having consolidated his forces, Fu-Manchu seeks to tip the balance of power by launching assaults from a hidden stronghold in the Caribbean. His target: the United States naval forces, just entering the global conflict. To stop the Devil Doctor, Sir Denis Nayland Smith and his ally, Bart Kerrigan, pick up the trail in London during the blackout, following it to New York, then the Panama Canal, and finally the land of voodoo - Haiti. There they face the enemy's deadly combination of advanced technology and deep-rooted mysticism! ALSO IN THIS VOLUME A LONG-LOST NAYLAND SMITH SHORT STORY! AFTERWORD BY LESLIE S. KLINGER
The Brood of The Witch Queen is a supernatural novel by Sax Rohmer. Sometimes called "Rohmers masterpiece" or "the scariest book ever written". The story deals with Robert Cairn and his suspicions of Antony Ferrara, the adopted son of an old friend and colleague of Robert's father, Dr Bruce Cairn, of infernal magic and supernatural influence. The novel begins with the strange murder of Sir Michael Ferrara. A horrifying series of events follows, many of them take place in an inner secret chamber inside a pyramid in Egypt. Summoned elements, burned corpses, women forced to prey upon their own husbands...
Immediately before World War II, Fu-Manchu decides to kill or control the world's war-mongering dictators, to pave the way for his own plans. The rapid-fire action moves from London to Venice to Paris, and involves various arcane and scientific forms of torture and death. BONUS FEATURE: "The Mark of the Monkey Monkey", the second of three 'lost adventures of Nayland Smith.'
Ten stories featuring perhaps the most fantastic sleuth of them all: Moris Klaw, the Dream Detective. Accompanied by his beautiful daughter Isis, Klaw's mysterious abilities lead him to clues and answers concerning occult occurrances far beyond the ken of ordinary minds. Moris Klaw is a gifted eccentric in the Holmesian mode. The proprietor of a ramshackle antique shop in Wapping, Klaw is a tall, stoop-shouldered man, of indeterminate age and unidentifiable foreign acccent, with skin the color of "dirty vellum". He wears gold pince-nez, a flat bowler hat, and an old black cape, and is not only an expert in the legends and lore of valuable historical objects, but also a master of disguise.
Fu-Manchu journeys to the United States for the first time, as the power behind a "League of Good Americans" candidate for the presidency. Nayland Smith and federal agent Mark Hepburn seek to stop the Devil Doctor and his plan to assassinate a presidential candidate! BONUS FEATURE: This volume includes the first of three "lost adventures of Nayland Smith": "The Blue Monkey".
