Thomas Hahn beschäftigt sich mit der Ausprägung und der Entwicklung professioneller Kompetenz von Mathematiklehrkräften durch Lehrerfortbildungen. Dazu entwickelt und untersucht er die Konstrukte fachdidaktisches Wissen, Beliefs zum Lehren und Lernen der Mathematik sowie fachdidaktische Motivation. Seine Ergebnisse weisen eine sehr heterogene Ausprägung des fachdidaktischen Wissens der Lehrkräfte auf. Tendenziell haben Lehrkräfte konstruktivistische Beliefs zum Unterrichten und sind motiviert, fachdidaktische Handlungen auszuführen. Die Entwicklungen der professionellen Kompetenz gestalten sich bei den befragten Lehrkräften unterschiedlich und sind teilweise auf die Analyse von Schülerarbeiten in Lehrfortbildungen zurückzuführen.

Unsere Vorstellungen vom Verhältnis von Staat und Kirche werden entscheidend von der Rechtsphilosophie des 18. und frühen 19. Jahrhunderts bestimmt. Das epocheprägende säkulare Naturrecht widmete sich staatskirchenrechtlichen Fragen im Teilgebiet des "natürlichen Kirchenrechts". Dessen Anhänger leiteten aus übergeordneten Vernunftgründen Regeln ab, die - im Gegensatz zu den besonderen Rechtsordnungen einzelner Kirchen - für alle Religionen Gültigkeit beanspruchten. Die Kirche galt einerseits als eine mit autonomen Befugnissen ausgestattete Gesellschaft; ihre Existenz im Staat machte sie andererseits zum Objekt staatlicher Hoheitsrechte. Das Spannungsverhältnis von Gesellschaftsautonomie und Staatsaufsicht erlaubte die Legitimierung unterschiedlicher politischer Interessen: der Stärkung der kirchlichen Unabhängigkeit oder des staatlichen Einflusses. Thomas Hahn untersucht den Wandel von Inhalten und Funktionen des natürlichen Kirchenrechts im Zeitraum von ca. 1680 bis 1850.

Gegenstand der Untersuchung ist die Frage, unter welchen Voraussetzungen die Eigentumsubertragung von beweglichen Sachen beim Kauf im englischen und deutschen Recht erfolgt. Diese insbesondere fur den grenzuberschreitenden Warenverkehr wichtige Problematik wird international unterschiedlich geregelt. Dabei kann im wesentlichen zwischen zwei Prinzipien unterschieden werden: In den meisten Landern (etwa in Grossbritannien und Frankreich) gilt das sogenannte Konsensual- oder Vertragsprinzip, wonach fur die Ubertragung des Eigentums allein der schuldrechtliche Kaufvertrag massgeblich ist. Demgegenuber verlangt die deutsche Rechtsordnung neben dem Kaufvertrag noch eine dingliche Einigung uber den Eigentumswechsel, die vom schuldrechtlichen Vertrag unabhangig ist. Das in Deutschland geltende Traditionsprinzip in Kombination mit dem Abstraktionsprinzip stellt international eine Ausnahme dar. Vor diesem Hintergrund vergleicht der Autor die deutsche und englische Regelung und arbeitet Annaherungspunkte der beiden Regelungen fur einen Bruckenschlag zwischen beiden Rechtsordnungen heraus."
