Mr. Job Titus wants to engage Tom Swift to create a unique blasting powder to aid in completing the dig since he has heard of Tom Swift and his enormous cannon. Later on, the story comes with Mr. Damon, Tom's good friend, being invested in a business that procures cinchona bark from Peru but prompting Mr. Tom will be invited Damon to travel with him to Peru so they can find the problem's origin. In the end, Tom, Mr. Damon, and Koku, Tom's giant, embark on Peru and encounter Professor Swyington Bumper, who is on a lifelong quest to locate the lost city of Pelone.
