WHITE WINE ENOLOGY could also be titled as SCIENCE AND PRACTICE OF WHITE WINEMAKING. It is characterized by two particular features: Firstly, it is authored by a practitioner who has worked his whole life in decision-making technical positions in the wine industry. Secondly, it is dedicated exclusively to the enology of white wines, and focuses its attention on flavor preservation rather than strategies that seek to obtain short-lived quality benefits. In doing so, it addresses one of the most important issues of white winemaking, which is the limited shelf life and flavor stability of most such wines, and shows how different white wine enology is from red. Due to the complex chemical process of white wine aging that goes well beyond oxidative aging, this book has a strong focus on sensory analysis throughout. It specifies the flavor-active compounds responsible for aging-related faults, identifies the chemical mechanisms of their formation, and clearly defines the decisive measures to take in order to mitigate them and improve flavor stability. While this book includes a deep treatment of the scientific fundaments of the different kinds of white wine aging, it also examines typical engineering issues common to commercial winemaking. Thus, it provides numerous practical hints and technical details of hands-on winery work and a valuable insight into the inherently cross-disciplinary nature of fine white winemaking. Extensive personal experience was decisive for this purpose. Volker Schneider was founder of the international consulting firm Schneider-Oenologie, which specialized in innovative winery operations, product development, quality control, and research. He has authored more than 450 technical articles and a range of scientific papers on these topics. He was also lecturer of enological chemistry at Geisenheim University.

Auch werden die wichtigsten Inhalte zur Entwicklung eines gesunden Lebensstils dargestellt. Ziel der Arbeit ist eine Identifikation kritischer Erfolgsfaktoren für eine erfolgreiche CRM-Initiative. Zunächst soll in dieser Arbeit dieses neue Managementparadigma vorgestellt werden. In diesem Kontext werden die Definitionen und die Dimensionen des Begriffes "CRM" vorgestellt, die Bestandteile des CRM (operatives, analytisches und kollaboratives CRM) veranschaulicht sowie auf neue CRM-Trends (bspw. On-demand CRM) eingegangen. Im weiteren Verlauf dieser Arbeit wird dann die Lage der deutschen Maschinen- und Anlagenbaubranche thematisiert, indem die signifikanten Kennzeichen dieser Branche herausgearbeitet werden. Anschließend werden die Besonderheiten des CRM in der Investitionsgüterindustrie analysiert. In diesem Kontext wird z. B. der Unterschied zwischen Business-to-Consumer (B2C) - CRM und Business-to-Business (B2B) - CRM erörtert. Ferner werden bestehende Ansätze zur Einführung von CRM illustriert. Insbesondere die CRM-Einführungsansätze von namhaften Unternehmensberatungen und Softwareunternehmen sollen in diesem Zusammenhang vorgestellt werden. Hieran schließt sich die Erstellung eines Kriterienkataloges an, der die Erfolgsfaktoren einer erfolgreichen CRM-Initiative identifiziert. Konkret soll aufgezeigt werden, welche Erfolgsfaktoren im Bereich der Strategie, der Organisation, der Vorbereitung, der Implementierung und des Controllings von CRM-Initiativen maßgeblich sind. Diese Erfolgsfaktoren liefern die Grundlage für einen Fragenkatalog. Dieser Fragenkatalog enthält Fragen an Unternehmen, durch welche evaluiert werden kann, ob Unternehmen, die an CRM interessiert sind, bereits die Voraussetzungen für eine solche Initiative erfüllen. Anhand dieses Fragenkataloges kann aber auch eruiert werden, wo bei Unternehmen, die bereits CRM einsetzen, Verbesserungspotenziale liegen. Bestandteil dieser Arbeit ist in erster Linie die Identifikation von Erfolgsfaktoren für die Einführung von CRM. Dies geschieht unter dem Hintergrund, dass dadurch eine Vorleistung für eine empirische Untersuchung geleistet wird. Diese Arbeit beinhaltet daher keine empirischen Ergebnisse einer vom Autor durchgeführten Studie über die tatsächlichen CRM-Erfolgsfaktoren. Vielmehr steht die Entwicklung eines Fragenkatalogs sowie eines Fragebogens im Mittelpunkt, der als Basis für empirische Untersuchungen dient.

Durch die Politikfeldanalyse hat sich die Politikwissenschaft als theoriegeleitete und gleichwohl anwendungsorientierte empirische Wissenschaft bedeutend weiterentwickelt Im Mittelpunkt ihres Analyseinteresses stehen politische Entscheidungen und deren Umsetzung in konkreten Handlungszusammenhängen unter Berücksichtigung ihrer Bedingungsfaktoren. Der vorliegende Band führt umfassend in die Forschungsperspektiven der Politikfeldanalyse ein. Zunächst erfolgt ein Abriss der Geschichte und der allgemeinen Ziele der Politikfeldforschung. Nachfolgend werden Grundbegriffe und relevante Theorieansätze zur Erklärung der politischen Entscheidungsprozesse vorgestellt und ihre Anwendung anhand von Fallbeispielen illustriert. Der Akzent liegt hierbei auf akteur- und strukturzentrierten Ansätzen, allerdings wird auch ein Überblick über neuere Diskurs- und Wissensmodelle des Policy-Making vermittelt sowie die vergleichende Policy-Analyse (Staatstätigkeitsforschung) behandelt.

In dem Band wird die langfristige Entwicklung der Rolle des Staates in der Kontrolle und Bereitstellung von Kommunikationsstrukturen analysiert. Der Kommunikationssektor erstreckt sich dabei von der Briefpost uber Telefon und Telegraf bis zu modernen Formen der Computerkommunikation. Obwohl nicht alle Kommunikationssysteme verstaatlicht wurden, spielte der Staat in den meisten Landern langfristig doch eine vorherrschende Rolle. Seit den 80er Jahren sind diese institutionellen Strukturen fast uberall in einem tiefgreifenden Wandel begriffen. Es wird gezeigt, warum diese Transformation in den 70er Jahren in den USA begann und warum diese sich danach in der gesamten industrialisierten Welt verbreitet hat.
