The Swedish Lutheran Churches at Raccoon and Penns Neck were the two most important Swedish churches in New Jersey during the Colonial Period. These two communities are located within Salem County. These records consist of minutes of church meetings, fragments of Pastors' Journals, historical accounts of the churches by early Swedish ministers, official documents and records of baptisms, marriages and deaths. The book also has an alphabetical listing of the parish register. This register should be really interesting to the genealogists of family historian as quite a bit of information is given about the member of the church, such as: his or her name along with spouses names, their birth dates, some times their parents names and births are listed, their relationship to other members within the church, children's names and birth dates, material status of children along with their spouses names, members occupation, names of grandchildren and birth dates, and other useful tidbits of information that could help led one to making a elusive breakthrough.

This unique and original compilation of Work Progress Administration slave narratives contains 145 slave narratives from the states of Oklahoma and Texas. Slave narratives from Oklahoma are difficult to obtain in print format and this title contains all of the narratives from the state. There are a vast amount of photographs included of the actual former slaves who were interviewed.

This title contains 26 slave detailed and historically rich narratives not orginally circulated or published from the state of Tennessee. The narratives give sensational insight into the everyday lives of the former slaves interviewed. In addition, some of the former slaves speak of traditions and other various folklore.

American slave narratives are a unique and fascinating historical resource. Although, the narratives have their contextual limitations-they are an invaluable primary source that allows one to gain insight pertaining to slaves from their own perspective. Female Slave Narratives is the product of the author's interest in the institution of slavery in all its facets. The narratives and interviews contained in this volume were selected based on a specific set of variables and criteria. It is the intent of the author to present narratives that documented slave life, folklore, the Civil War, and Emancipation. In addition, the author has given special attention to include female slaves who were house slave and field workers. These subjects were chosen in an attempt to give the readers historical and social context of slavery in America. Moreover, we have chosen to include female narratives from a variety of statesAnother interesting facet of the narratives is that some of them actually include the former slave's residential address. It is a unique experience to see these places today. Obviously, the slave homes are most likely a casualty of time and progress. Nonetheless, some of the geographic locales still use the same addresses and street names, which allow those who are interested to note how the areas have changed over time.

This title consists of to complete works. The first materials presented in this original compilation are slave narrative and interviews of former slaves in Kentucky. The second title is a book dealing with the life of J. D. Green, A Runaway Slave From Kentucky, Containing an Account of His Three Escapes, in 1839, 1846, and 1848.
