Written by Dr. Yan Wang, The Glory Contribution: In My Prose Collections covers different areas and nations, and the articles selected are from special angles to reflect on nature, science, fairy life, history, and travel techniques. With beautiful characters, wisdom, and noble topics, the book offers plenty of spiritual knowledge. Dr. Yan Wang immigrated to the United States of America when she was in her permanent residency. She received her bachelor's degree in medicine in 1990; a doctoral diploma degree in 1998 in China; she was a scholar fellow at Miami University; and she receive her postdoctoral education at Pennsylvania University in the United States. Now she has working positions as a doctor, professor, and committee member at hospitals and medicine organizations. She has plenty of important articles and books published in China, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Her book's themes, no matter the literature and knowledge, are valuable to review, and these collected stories offer moments for the reader that will encourage them to stop and think of the spiritual and noble aspects of our world-and that will bring them a brilliant sparkle to lift their spirits.

Going Beyond Aid

Going Beyond Aid

Justin Yifu Lin; Yan Wang

sidottu
Developing countries have for decades been trying to catch up with the industrialized high-income countries, but only a few have succeeded. Historically, structural transformation has been a powerful engine of growth and job creation. Traditional development aid is inadequate to address the bottlenecks for structural transformation, and is hence ineffective. In this book, Justin Yifu Lin and Yan Wang use the theoretical foundations of New Structural Economics to examine South-South development aid and cooperation from the angle of structural transformation. By studying the successful economic transformation of countries such as China and South Korea through 'multiple win' solutions based on comparative advantages and economy of scale, and by presenting new ideas and different perspectives from emerging market economies such as Brazil, India and other BRICS countries, they bring a new narrative to broaden the ongoing discussions of post-2015 development aid and cooperation as well as the definitions of aid and cooperation.

First-stage LISA Data Processing and Gravitational Wave Data Analysis
This thesis covers a diverse set of topics related to space-based gravitational wave detectors such as the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA). The core of the thesis is devoted to the preprocessing of the interferometric link data for a LISA constellation, specifically developing optimal Kalman filters to reduce arm length noise due to clock noise. The approach is to apply Kalman filters of increasing complexity to make optimal estimates of relevant quantities such as constellation arm length, relative clock drift, and Doppler frequencies based on the available measurement data. Depending on the complexity of the filter and the simulated data, these Kalman filter estimates can provide up to a few orders of magnitude improvement over simpler estimators. While the basic concept of the LISA measurement (Time Delay Interferometry) was worked out some time ago, this work brings a level of rigor to the processing of the constellation-level data products. The thesis concludes with some topics related to the eLISA such as a new class of phenomenological waveforms for extreme mass-ratio inspiral sources (EMRIs, one of the main source for eLISA), an octahedral space-based GW detector that does not require drag-free test masses, and some efficient template-search algorithms for the case of relatively high SNR signals.
Chinese Legal Reform

Chinese Legal Reform

Yan Wang

Routledge
2001
sidottu
This collection assesses the legal developments which have taken place since the 1980s in China. It discusses China's achievements in building a new legal system and identifies the theoretical and institutional limitations of China's legal reform. Featuring an extensive case-study of foreign investment law, this book considers a wide-ranging set of interconnecting variables in China's changing social context, in order to examine and illustrate the gap between the text and actual practice of the law, especially as it relates to foreign direct investment. It will be of great interest to students and scholars of Chinese Law, Business and Economics, as well as to business investors in China.
The Emerging Market of China's Computer Industry

The Emerging Market of China's Computer Industry

Yan Wang; Jeff X. Zhang

Praeger Publishers Inc
1995
sidottu
By the year 2000, annual sales of computer products to China may well reach $15-18 billion, making China one of the largest computer markets in the world. At the same time, China's own computer industry is expected to become world-class and internationally competitive. How this will come about, the market and economic trends that are presently developing, and the opportunities they present for Western businesses are explored here by two insiders, offering not only useful analysis but hands-on guidance to the ways in which China's computer market works. With an appendix listing more than 500 of the most important Chinese computer companies, industrial and professional organizations, and related consulting and law firms, the book will be essential reading for computer industry management and top sales executives, and for investment bankers and others with important stakes in the China market. China's computer market is not easy to enter. The key to doing so, according to the authors, is to understand not only China's unique historical, cultural, and environmental factors that condition the way business is done there, but the way Chinese businesspeople think and act. China is a low-income and transitional economy, much different from Japanese and other Asian economies, and incentives and price structures are distorted and the rules of the game are not clearly written. The legal infrastructure is incomplete, and laws are not rigorously enforced. Using the latest data available only from local Chinese sources, Zhang and Wang dissect the Chinese computer market in terms that Westerners can understand and relate to: its opportunities, but also its risks. Academics teaching and studying international business, marketing, and investment will also benefit from the authors' insights.
