OSM (pronounced "awesome"): Operational Stress Management Resilience Training focuses on the First Responder organization's core mission. It strengthens command and leadership, it reinforces team cohesion, and it teaches new ways to cope with ongoing stress and cumulative trauma. OSM integrates all this into the unit's operational cycle. The outcome is both greater professional abilities, increased wellness, improved mission-oriented decision making under stress. and a decrease in burnout and other mental-health issues. This book is the outcome of three decades of service and work with special operations soldiers, police, fire-fighters, and emergency medical personnel. The au-thors share insights and propose new and innovative ways of promoting physical and psychological well-ness. This small book introduces a comprehensive, organizational intervention and training curriculum that has been field tested with great success.
