ENGLISH DESCRIPTION "It is, at the same time, a descent into hell and a book about what makes us human." --Junot D az A month after being forced to leave El Salvador upon receiving a death threat for insulting the president, our drunk and sex addict narrator faces a rare assignment: reviewing a report that details perfectly the genocide suffered by indigenous peoples in a Central-American country. What at first seems like a promising job will become an endless task clouded by suspicion: a descent into hell by those who survived unspeakable carnage, bifront creatures of fascination and horror. Opening Pandora's box, revealing what happened not so long ago at that place where he now lives as a recluse will leave him at the mercy of crimes that somehow don't belong exclusively in the past, but are lurking close. Horacio Castellanos Moya is the author of the best portrait ever written about the terror, the paranoia, and the fear that follow the horrors perpetrated in Central-American countries. Once again, we confirm the extraordinary narrative pulse of an expert in examining the health of a continent installed in perpetual anguish.
