Je me h te de vous rassurer en vous disant que ce qui m'occupe n'est pas, proprement parler, la partie scientifique de votre ouvrage, sur laquelle je vous crois volontiers sur parole, mais sa partie m taphysique. Vous avez abord hardiment des questions qui d passent la port e de l'esprit humain. ces hauteurs, la distance qui s pare le savant de l'ignorant dispara t, comme la distance de la terre au soleil en regard de celle qui nous s pare des toiles sans parallaxe sensible, et chacun de nous a le droit de parler de ces choses, parce que nul ne peut se flatter d' tre en cela plus clairvoyant que son voisin...
