In her Emblesmes, Georgette de Montenay expresses herself above all through biblical allusions, inferred by her text and by the details of the engravings by Pierre Woeiriot. This edition allows twenty-first century readers, who may lack the necessary biblical knowledge, to gain a better understanding of her work.
