If you're like most people, there are a lot of things you probably want to know about this surgery, and there are a lot of things your doctor probably wants you to know. The problem is: when you're in the office visiting, sometimes there might be some questions you forget to ask, or some answers that we forget to give. That's why we wrote this book - to take our time, and carefully explain all the important details of your surgery, including what you can expect before, during, and after your operation. Here, we've tried to cover it all. Of course, everybody's different, and no two patients are exactly the same. But, in these pages, we've tried hard to put all the facts on the table and to write the book that we'd want to read, if it were us having the surgery.

This book represents the collected history of our 20 year scientific experience with DMEK surgery. But this is not a dense, jargon-filled, academic textbook. It's a picture book (or more, conventionally, a "photo atlas") of our most important findings. That is, our most illustrative diagrams, cartoons, and illustrations, and the best pictures from two decades of research. This has enabled us to crystalize our most critical discoveries into an easily (and pleasantly ) digestible format, which is quick to read and easy to share, with your colleagues or with your patients.
