This book offers the reader an in depth look at Afrovenezuelan rhythms including the cultural origins, applications and role in Venezuelan society. The authors give drummers the tools needed to incorporate these styles and variants into their own drum set technique while achieving an authentic Venezuelan feel. Actually this is the first work that analyzes and teaches the complexity of Afrovenezuelan rhythms. This book can also be an invaluable resource for arrangers and composers.
