As a Man Thinketh As a Man Thinketh is a self-help book by James Allen, published in 1903. It was described by Allen as "... dealing] with the power of thought, and particularly with the use and application of thought to happy and beautiful issues. I have tried to make the book simple, so that all can easily grasp and follow its teaching, and put into practice the methods which it advises. It shows how, in his own thought-world, each man holds the key to every condition, good or bad, that enters into his life, and that, by working patiently and intelligently upon his thoughts, he may remake his life, and transform his circumstances. The price of the book is only one shilling, and it can be carried in the pocket." It was also described by Allen as "A book that will help you to help yourself", "A pocket companion for thoughtful people", and "A book on the power and right application of thought."

In creating one of the first and most successful examples of the inspirational self-help book, James Allen was motivated by his own hard experience to show how our mental attitude has profound control over our lives and how we experience the world. More than that, he shows how, in mastering how we think, we can master our place in the world. As a Man Thinketh first appeared in 1903 and draws its title from the Bible (Prov. 23: 7) “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” Written to be accessible to all, the author persuasively describes how readers need to take responsibility for their thoughts as well as their actions, and that how a person thinks literally shapes their life path. In improving our thoughts, we can improve our lives. With an eye-catching new cover, and professionally typeset manuscript, this edition of As a Man Thinketh is both modern and readable.

ELEVATE YOUR LIFE WITH THREE JAMES ALLEN BOOKS "WHEN A MAN enters a dark room he is not sure of his movements, he cannot see objects around him, or properly locate them, and is liable to hurt himself by coming into sudden contact with them. But let a light be introduced, and immediately all confusion disappears. Every object is seen, and there is no danger of being hurt." With these thoughts from Light on Life's Difficulties, James Allen comforted millions of readers. Every crisis needs to be brought into the light so you can find your way out. Let James Allen help you find the light that will guide your way. As James Allen teaches us in Man: King of Mind, Body & Circumstance, "The problem of life consists in learning how to live. It is like the problem of addition or subtraction to the schoolboy. When mastered, all difficulty disappears, and the problem has vanished. All the problems of life, whether they be social, political, or religious, subsist in ignorance and wrong-living. As they are solved in the heart of each individual, they will be solved in the mass of men." Take to heart his wise words as you tackle your daily challenges and anxiety about the future. In Morning and Evening Thoughts, first published in 1909, Allen gathers the essence of his insight into a month's worth of twice-daily affirmations and meditations culled from his many inspiring works. Rise above your crisis with his wisdom and reflections. You will enhance your self-awareness, reduce stress and anxiety, and trigger your brain's relaxation response as you calm your mind and body. "...when the light of wisdom is introduced into the darkened understanding, confusion vanishes, difficulties are dissolved, all things are seen in their true place and proportion, and henceforth the man walks open-eyed and unhurt, in the clear light of wise comprehension." - James Allen James Allen was a British philosophical writer and poet and a pioneer of the self-help movement. At the turn of the 20th century, he was one of the most popular writers on spirituality, his many books comforting millions of readers with their simple, unpretentious wisdom about living a joyful life. Although Allen never achieved great fame or wealth, his works continue to influence people around the world, including the New Thought movement.

James' Song is a compilation of verses primarily from the Book of Psalms and a few from Isaiah, Matthew, and Revelation. The author's love for the Psalms began while he was living in New York City (Harlem & Brooklyn). The idea of compiling verses was conceived while he was living in Omaha, Nebraska. Ray Reid composed music to accompany the author's recitation of verses, and the work was recorded on tape (circa 1993). The author has grown to understand that giving thanks and praising God is a "Prelude to Worship" (Pastor Robert Young).
