Dogmatik i grunddrag … (Ur "Varför läsa Dogmatik i grunddrag?".)Stanley Hauerwas, Gilbert T Rowe Professor Emeritus of Divinity and Law vid Duke University, USASchweizaren Karl Barth (1886–1968) brukar beskrivas som 1900-talets viktigaste teolog.

Eugene H Peterson (1932–2018), amerikansk pastor, teolog, författare och poet, skrev över 30 böcker, däribland hans prisvinnande bibelöversättning The Message.
Learning Jesus Christ through the Heidelberg Catechism
""The Heidelberg Catechism does not represent a different theological orientation... here the Reformed Church confesses the good news of Jesus Christ in. a joyful, thankful, free, personal way . . . Barth has caught this spirit in his commentary. To read it is to become acquainted with a side of Reformed Protestantism which all too often has remained hidden."" - from the Preface The two short studies by renowned theologian Karl Barth included here were first published in 1964, the 400th anniversary of the Heidelberg Catechism--a classical document of the Reformation Period. Students, ministers, laypersons, and theologians continue to find these essays helpful, for they provide not only an introduction to the Heidelberg Catechism, but also a brief, systematic presentation of Reformed theology in the 16th century and a glimpse of Barth's own theology on the 20th century. The first essay, ""Christian Doctrine According to the Heidelberg Catechism,"" is a question by question interpretation, commentary, and evaluation of the catechism. ""Introduction to the Heidelberg Catechism,"" the second essay, examines the three basic questions of the document: Who is the Comforter? Who is comforted? and How is comfort given and in what does it consist?

As such, it represents the culmination of the great theologians thoughts on a broad range of subjects, from the challenges of living as the church in an increasingly secular world to the distinctive joys and challenges of the pastoral vocation.
Karl Barth Gesamtausgabe / Vortrage Und Kleinere Arbeiten 1935-1937

The Barth-Brunner correspondence contains 174 letters, and offers a glimpse into the dynamic interactions of two of the 20th century's greatest theologians. The letters reveal the personalities of both men as they engage in intense and explicit theological discussion, debate, and criticism. The correspondence is rife with references to other theologians and theological positions, providing a telling account of how Barth and Brunner viewed themselves in relation to Christianity and philosophy. Additional commentaries reveal their thoughts on their teachers, contemporaries, and students, and ultimately offer a unique glimpse into the theology and the history of the Christian church in the 20th century, as well as the characters of the two men. Accordingly, the letters will clearly challenge some popular conceptions.
