Curated by baritone Michael Kelly, this collection of 20 art songs is ideal for active performers looking for exciting new repertoire, voice teachers searching for fresh contemporary songs for their studios, or student vocalists seeking out unique and culturally-relevant new works to fulfill 21st century repertoire requirements. These songs, which were predominantly composed in the 21st century, represent a broad range of compositional styles from composers living and writing today, and were curated for intermediate through advanced voices. Many of the songs in this volume are excerpted from larger cycles of songs, available directly from the composers. Including works by: Victoria Bond, Martin Bussey, D. Edward Davis, Daniel Felsenfeld, Cara Haxo, Chia-Yu Hsu, David Leisner, Carrie Magin, Allen McCullough, Ryan Molloy, Ben Moore, Gabrielle Owens, Paul Salerni, Harry Stafylakis, Margret Tesch-Muller, Craig Urquhart, Mark Weiser, Philip Wharton, Scott Wheeler, and David Wolfson. The NewMusicShelf Anthologies of New Music are a bold, new publishing initiative aimed at bringing new and unknown composers and repertoire to student and professional performers alike. With an emphasis on works not found in the traditional publishing ecosystem, each volume is curated by performers who have a reputation for championing new music, with an eye toward selecting works with a range of styles and difficulties that are suitable for concert and recital performance. With this innovative mode of publishing, NewMusicShelf advocates for self-published composers in a way previously unheard of in the realm of classical music: all self-published composers retain full ownership of their work while earning a generous royalty on every sale. Your support of this project directly benefits these composers, and also helps NewMusicShelf to continue to promote the works of the many excellent composers writing today. We encourage you to explore these composers' catalogs in greater depth, and hope that these songs inspire many fruitful and rewarding collaborations

Disruptive behavior is extremely common in normal and clinical populations. This book addresses its development, the newly grouped diagnoses associated with it and their bio-psycho-social causes and treatment. The past decade has seen a great deal of progress in the psychiatric and psychological literature, which has greatly advanced our understanding of these disorders. The book discusses state of the art studies of taxonomy, epidemiology, etiology, and treatment. Each chapter concludes with a thorough discussion of the clinical implications of this new information, exemplified by real case material. A whole chapter is devoted to the forensic implications of this important grouping of disorders. The chapter begins with a discussion of the exemplary cases in the legal literature, providing the clinician and the expert with a concise briefing of the legal underpinnings of these disorders which in essence seek to bring the world of medicine to the world of crime. The final chapter provides a concise summary of all preceeding chapter, summarizing what we have learned and showing the way into the future in terms of basic research, translational research and clinical practice. Sources and resources are provided for clinicians, researchers, teacher, primary care physicians, criminologists, forensic experts and interested lay people.

In Volume 4 of his 'Confessions', Michael Kelly relates the events surrounding him from 2004 to 2017, bringing the story up to date. Beginning just after his departure from the Temple of Set, he describes how he formulated the Apophis curriculum of Draconian Magic, leading to the founding of The Apophis Club and the Apophis Academy. He also discusses his progress to Mastery in the Rune-Gild, leading to his current focus on the runes of the Younger Futhark and the preservation of the lore and practice of the Manx runes used by his own forefathers. Kelly describes many travels and adventures from this period, and presents several important papers which have never previously seen print, although the impact of their insights has shone through in his later work. He discusses how he became a writer and reshaped his world to match his dreams, Remanifesting time and again. There is much of magic, mirth and mystery in these pages, all told with humour, craft and cunning, concealing profound truths behind the words. Kelly remains ever the jester, the clown in the court of the king, who is nonetheless the true power behind the throne.

The image is so well known it is practically iconic: The reclusive poet, feminine and fragile, weaving verse of beguiling complexity from the room in which she kept herself sequestered from the world. The Belle of Amherst, the distinctive American voice, the singer of the soul’s mysteries: Emily Dickinson. Yet that image scarcely captures the fullness and vitality of Dickinson’s life, most notably her many connections—to family, to friends, to correspondents, to the literary tastemakers of her day, even to the unnamed, and perhaps unknowable, “Master” to whom she addressed three of her most breathtaking works of prose. Through an exploration of a relatively small group of items from Dickinson’s vast literary remains, this volume—an accompaniment to an exhibition on Dickinson mounted at The Morgan Library & Museum in New York—demonstrates the complex ways in which these often humble objects came into conversation with other people, places, and events in the poet’s life. Seeing the network of connections and influences that shaped Dickinson’s life presents us with a different understanding of this most enigmatic yet elegiac poet in American letters, and allows us more fully to appreciate both her uniqueness and her humanity. The materials collected here make clear that the story of Dickinson’s manuscripts, her life, and her work is still unfolding. While the image of Dickinson as the reclusive poet dressed only in white remains a popular myth, details of Dickinson’s life continue to emerge. Several items included both in the exhibit and in this volume were not known to exist until the present century. The scrap of biographical intelligence recorded by Sarah Tuthill in a Mount Holyoke catalogue, or the concern about Dickinson’s salvation expressed by Abby Wood in a private letter to Abiah Root, were acquired by Amherst College in the last fifteen years. What additional pieces of evidence remain to be uncovered and identified in the attics and basements of New England? Published to accompany The Morgan Library & Museum’s pathbreaking exhibit I’m Nobody! Who are You? The Life and Poetry of Emily Dickinson—part of a series of exhibits at the Morgan celebrating and exploring the creative lives of significant women authors—The Networked Recluse offers the reader an account of the exhibit itself, together with a series of contributions by curators, scholars of Dickinson, and poets whose own work her words have influenced.

Runes of the Valiant is a book devoted to the theory and practice of the Younger Futhark, the sixteen runes of the Viking Age. When beginning to work with the Younger Futhark, the runic Initiate is faced with a number of questions, all of which need to be answered before any real progress can be made: Why was the 24 rune Elder Futhark reduced to the 16 rune Younger Futhark? What became of the 'missing' eight runes? Are they to be ignored, or were they combined with other runes? How did the ancient runemasters decide which eight runes to condense? Why sixteen runes specifically? Why not some other number? Have the meanings of the remaining runes changed to accommodate the reduction of the rune row? Only when we can intuit an answer to these questions and determine the precise, positive reason which underlay the transition from the Elder to the Younger Futhark, can we understand how and why the Younger runes are to be used. And once that vital spirit which fuelled and catalysed the change is grasped and understood on an internal level, the runes themselves will blaze with white heat in the crucible of our understanding, and we may forge ahead, using them in new and dynamic ways - living ways - resonant with the spirit of their creation. Michael Kelly is a Runemaster in the Rune-Gild, and a proud Manxman, seeking to recover the Mysteries of the Younger Futhark used by his forefathers.
Asia as a continent accounts for half the world's population. Within its boundaries, there is an incomparable diversity of cultures, socio-economic standards and political structures. And all the world's major religions-Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism and Christianity-have their origins in Asia. Little wonder that religion is always involved in the flash points that occur across the region. Religious freedom and religious persecution knows no boundaries and are alive and well in all their complexions from Korea in the north to Indonesia in the south, from the Philippines in the east to Pakistan in the west. And UCAN has reporters and analysts across Asia's full extent. We have brought our unique network to the task of examining and the evaluating the prospects for religious freedom and the causes of religious persecution in Asia. As rational beings, we humans actualize our highest capacity when we make choices. For that exercise we need freedom. At the heart of all freedoms-political, economic and cultural especially-is the freedom to believe. Religious freedom is the fundamental freedom. Belief and its restriction attack the heart of freedom. But the circumstances and conditions of religious freedom and the persecution of believers vary greatly across the continent. The range and reach of those circumstances and conditions across Asia are what this volume offers.

Unlike previous volumes in this series, Everything and Nothing is primarily a volume of philosophy rather than practice. It is a volume that is now sorely needed, as the occult in general - including the Left-Hand Path - becomes increasingly mired in superstition, loose thinking, unfounded beliefs and old habits which are taking far too long to die. Draconian Magic Works upon the Real, and without a clear and precise Understanding of what is Real, you cannot hope to master it. The book is divided into three sections. The first two sections of the book follow the old alchemical process of solve et coagula: in the first section, magic is deconstructed and taken to pieces, discarding all the flim-flam until its purest Essence is revealed and unsullied; only then can it be rebuilt into a coherent and powerful engine in the second section. The third section employs this new Understanding of magic to address some of the most common questions people pose about life, the universe and everything. The title of this book, Everything and Nothing, has a multitude of meanings. You will find that some of these feel more appropriate the more you read the book and come to Understand it. First time round, as you're sore because it's rubbished some of the things you may have held sacred, you may feel that the book promised Everything and gave you Nothing; later, as its perspective starts to paint a new picture of Reality, you may feel that it reduced your prior worldview to Nothing, but provided Everything in return; as Understanding and Mastery dawn, you will discover that Everything and Nothing are Truth in the most sublime sense.

In 1993, Michael Kelly joined the Temple of Set, an international Left-Hand Path initiatory school, whose members seek to use magical and psychological techniques to transform their own beings into "the Highest of Life". Kelly rose swiftly within the Temple, attaining the degree of Magister Templi - Master of the Temple - and becoming Grand Master of the Order of Leviathan and Co-Grand Master of the Order of Merlin, as well as sitting on the Temple's Council of Nine. This affectionate memoir is a fascinating and warmly related account of Kelly's decade in the Temple, until shortly after he left the organisation in 2002 to pursue his own course. His works, travels, friendships and achievements in this productive decade are recalled fondly and his tales are both informative and entertaining, a real first person view of what it means to belong to a genuine magical Order and to put its teachings to full use. The book also contains dozens of papers and articles written by Kelly during this period, which have not previously been published outside the Temple of Set. Since leaving the Temple, Kelly has founded the Apophis Club, writing many books on the subject of Draconian initiatory magic, and is also a Master in the Rune-Gild. The publication of these early documents reveals the evolution of his teachings and sheds new light on many of his current themes and principles, an invaluable resource for students.
From Quiet Homes is an historical novel evocatively grounded in a broad canvas of Australian life from the first to the second world wars. A love story is at its heart but the novel also raises broader issues about the moral dilemmas of war. It tells the story of a young Queenslander who, brought up with pacifist sympathies, nevertheless joins the RAF's Bomber Command in WWII. Shot down, he falls in love with his German nurse before losing contact in a POW camp. After the war he searches for her amid the ruins of two German cities.
