Nach mehr als 200 Jahren hat sich der französische Gesetzgeber von dem wirtschaftlich unsinnigen Faustpfandrecht und den spezialgesetzlichen Registerpfandrechten gelöst und das französische Mobiliarsachenrecht grundlegend reformiert: In dem Bestreben, die internationale Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der französischen Wirtschaft zu steigern, hat er in den Jahren 2006 und 2007 die fiducie eingeführt und allgemeine besitzlose Registerpfandrechte (gage, gage des stocks und nantissement) zugelassen. Die vorliegende Arbeit stellt die neu geschaffenen Rechtsfiguren den bereits vor den Reformen vorhandenen französischen Mobiliarsicherheiten gegenüber und beleuchtet die französische Rechtslage vor dem Hintergrund des deutschen Kreditsicherungsrechts. Abschließend werden die französischen Neuregelungen unter rechtsvergleichenden Aspekten daraufhin untersucht, ob sie den richtigen Schritt in Richtung Modernisierung und europäische Vereinheitlichung darstellten. Die Untersuchung wendet sich sowohl an Dozenten und Studierende der Rechts- und Wirtschaftswissenschaften als auch an interessierte Führungskräfte europaweit agierender Unternehmen.

Die Arbeit beleuchtet anknüpfend an die Wissenskluftforschung vielfältige Faktoren für politischen Wissenserwerb: Basierend auf einer zweiwelligen Panelbefragung 16-29-Jähriger zeigt die Autorin auf, wie Bildung, Motivation, differenzielle Nachrichtennutzung, Informationsverarbeitung sowie politische Gespräche und der Austausch über Politik auf Social Network Sites die Entwicklung von Wissensklüften beeinflussen. Darüber hinaus wird die Illusion of Knowing in den Blick genommen und analysiert, was eine Überschätzung der eigenen politischen Informiertheit begünstigen kann.
