Sixteen year old Bridget Casey likes to fantasize when she's alone. It's the only way to distract herself from her life with a mother on the verge of offing herself, an absentee father in pursuit of his big break as a movie director, and three siblings who hardly notice anything wrong. So when she starts having super cool flying dreams, with a mysterious -yet familiar- man, she can't wait to have even more celestial rendezvous. That is, until she realizes who he is...and what he wants from her.
366 prompts for noticing nature every day of the year. Arranged in day-by-day format, this beautiful book is a celebration of the nature you can find in your city or town, such as urban foxes prowling in the street, wildflowers sprouting from a crack in the pavement, butterflies on your balcony and the joys of wandering along a canal path. Learn how to put up a bug hotel on the 5th January, search for cherry blossom on the 4th April and have a picnic underneath a willow's branches on the 11th June. There are cloud formations to spot, avenues of trees to walk down and elderberries to harvest. Over the past few years, many city dwellers have learned to appreciate the nature on their doorsteps, as part of the lasting legacy of lockdown. This timely book is a celebration of the vast variety of wildlife around us, proving that you don't need a trip to the countryside to enjoy the natural world.
Lawyers, learning and the challenge of corruption is designed to clarify our state of knowledge of the pedagogy of this field and create a reference and resource for teaching the generation of lawyers who face the challenge of modern corruption. It develops clear keys to understanding the challenges of an area that is the Wild West of jurisprudence, frequently without workable boundaries of jurisdictional and substantive law. This is a new and rapidly developing area of learning and practice. As such the book examines the experiential elements of teaching, anticipating the need to address the demands of practice. It presents and applies new research and examines emergent international literature representing many disciplines and different spheres of activity. It also contains material to act as exemplars for the development of authentic case studies and other pedagogical devices. The authors draw upon the historical antecedents of corruption, including influences such as colonialism, deregulation and globalisation to provide vital background. The book is informed by a specifically selected international consultative group of practitioners and policy to ensure that the analyses are valid and reflect experience in the real world. It is also supported on the website: www.teachinglegalethics.org where complementary materials are provided along with an interactive discussion facility provided for academics and practitioners to discuss and report on their use of the materials.

Berries are an important food source and have been revered in literature and history, but we take them for granted. Raspberries are red because Zeus' nursemaid Ida, pricked her finger on the thorns, Mark Twain immortalized huckleberries in his novel of 1884 and Robert Frost and Sylvia Plath, amongst many other poets, wrote on the joys of berry picking. In the kitchen berries are all around performers, enhancing sweet and savory dishes. They can be preserved as jams, jellies, curds, or chutneys and bottled in sugar or alcohol. Cakes, biscuits, and puddings are all better for the addition of a few berries and some dishes, such as Eton Mess, fools, and clafoutis raise the berries to starring roles themselves. This book will help you to grow all kinds of berries. Most importantly, the book contains recipes: over fifty ways to use berries in your kitchen, from Cranberry Roast Ham to Raspberry Brownies and Blueberry Pancakes to Mulberry Gin.
