Le poesie arrivano come un flusso che comincia al primo verso e finisce all'ultimo - solo alcune restano cos , con un paio di cambiamenti, le altre devono essere rifatte completamente, se la prima ispirazione era di un genere inferiore. Savitri un'opera di per s unica, diversa da tutte le altre. Ne ho scritte qualcosa come otto o dieci revisioni, all'inizio sotto l'influsso della vecchia ispirazione, insufficiente. Da allora in poi sono sempre a riscriverlo, concentrandomi sul primo libro e lavorandovi ancora e ancora, nella speranza che ogni verso possa risultare di una perfezione perfetta - ma difficilmente ora trovo il tempo per un simile lavoro.
