The perpetual search for growth and fulfillment often remains incomplete. Ken Wilber combines insights from spirituality, psychology, shadow work, science, and integral theory to offer a path toward a radical and authentic wholeness that encompasses five dimensions: Waking Up, Growing Up, Opening Up, Cleaning Up, and Showing Up. No other growth approach integrates these five dimensions, each representing a unique journey toward wholeness. By combining and integrating these aspects, we achieve what Wilber calls the Great Wholeness: a complete experience in which all facets of our lives come together to connect us deeply--not only with ourselves but also with everything around us. The author also explores how to develop our multiple intelligences, expand our spiritual awareness, process what remains hidden deep within our psyche, and deepen love and joy through the practice of integral tantra.

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION A leader in transpersonal psychology presents the first truly integrative model of spiritual consciousness and Western developmental psychology. The goal of an "integral psychology" is to honor and embrace every legitimate aspect of human consciousness under one roof. Drawing on hundreds of sources--Eastern and Western, ancient and modern--Wilber creates a psychological model that includes waves of development, streams of development, states of consciousness, and the self, and follows the course of each from subconscious to self-conscious to superconscious. Included in the book are charts correlating over a hundred psychological and spiritual schools from around the world, including Kabbalah, Vedanta, Plotinus, Teresa of vila, Aurobindo, Theosophy, and modern theorists such as Jean Piaget, Erik Erikson, Jane Loevinger, Lawrence Kohlberg, Carol Gilligan, Erich Neumann, and Jean Gebser. Integral Psychology is Wilber's most ambitious psychological system to date and is already being called a landmark study in human development.

A piercing examination of our current social and political situation through the lens of Integral Theory--by the framework's founder, cutting-edge philosopher Ken Wilber. Our overwhelmingly divisive socio-political climate is among the greatest challenges of our time. Not only in America but also internationally, it seems that almost every issue raises incredibly vocal oppositional views. Not least of all, the arising of vast networks of disinformation is a testament to our deepening rifts. With so much hostility, antagonism, cynicism, and discord, how can we mend the ruptures in our society? Acclaimed philosopher Ken Wilber examines our polarization through the lens of Integral Theory to show what led to these fractures, both in America and around the world--as well as what is needed for humanity to move forward. In his provocative analysis, he explores how the arising of support for antagonistic authoritarians represents a backlash against the failure of those at the leading edge of consciousness (postmodernism and pluralism) to acknowledge the challenges that persist amidst our imagined progress: that, to date, society has been not proven to be equal, and liberty and justice have not been consistent for all. But a new Integral force is emerging that can move beyond the narcissism, nihilism, and cynicism to offer genuine leadership and move us all toward greater wholeness. All of us can be part of the movement, and here Ken Wilber shows us how.

From integral philosopher Ken Wilber, a practical guide to finding a radical and complete Wholeness through a path that blends integral theory, psychology, spiritual practice, and shadow work. According to Ken Wilber, the perpetual human search for growth and fulfillment is often incomplete. In this book, Wilber integrates the wisdom of spirituality, psychology, shadow work, science, and integral theory to offer us a path to a radical and complete Wholeness of Waking Up, Growing Up, Opening Up, Cleaning Up, and Showing Up. Wilber shows readers how to apply integral theory to their everyday lives for transformation. For example, he shows how the theory of the Four Quadrants--the four perspectives through which we view the world--relates to our lives and allows us to show up and be more present. He also discusses how to evolve our multiple intelligences, how to increase our spiritual awareness, how to process what's hidden in the depths of our consciousness, and how to enhance, deepen, and widen the feelings of bliss and love through the practice of integral tantric sex. Wilber introduces several practices--on topics such as the Witness, One Taste, and shadow work--to lead us to direct experiences that we can integrate into our lives. In this way, we truly understand Wholeness and can make room for everything life brings our way. No other path of growth includes these five categories--each of which is a unique path to wholeness. By combining them and integrating them, one comes to a realization of what Wilber calls Big Wholeness--a completeness in which everything in our experience comes together to pull us into this deep meaning, where we feel in touch not only with all of the important aspects of ourselves but also with everything in our world.
The Tibetan Book of the Dead (Bardo Thodol) is considered one of the great wisdom books of mankind. Since its metaphorical language is hard to understand for non-Buddhists, the author's concern was to carefully transfer the main contents into a modern language while preserving the poetry of the original. Knowledge and experience as a psychologist as well as his own meditation practice and near-death experiences helped him to detach the universal spiritual truths from the Buddhist context and translate them into contemporary images. This has resulted in a longer prose poem as the main text, which describes the different phases of dying until well beyond the last breath. Following the original, it can be read aloud to a dying person to support him or her in transition. Practical instructions help to create an appropriate atmosphere and to structure the reading in time. The book is designed in such a way that it can also be used for personal meditation on death and transience and for exploring one's own consciousness. The appendix has a chapter that relates the subject of death and dying to the integral model of consciousness. The extensive essay by Ken Wilber discusses the place of The Tibetan Book of the Dead in modern psychology and spirituality. Music recommendations and useful links complete the content. The book is a short and very practical guide for dying. It should not be read once but it is a workbook for preparing to the important moment of the death. Highly recommended Traudel Rei in Buddhismus aktuell 3/2010 The book is a revised and expanded edition of Das andere Totenbuch (2009, ISBN 978-3-8391-0645-7).
Coming soon as a Major Motion Picture Heartfelt, deeply moving, and incredibly real, this narrative shares the five-year journey of philosopher Ken Wilber and his wife, Treya Killam Wilber, through Treya's illness, treatment, and death. Ken's wide-ranging commentary--which questions conventional and New Age approaches to illness and reaches beyond the experience to find wisdom in pain--is combined with Treya's journals to create a portrait of health and healing, wholeness and harmony, and suffering and surrender. This edition includes a new preface by the author.
Explores the philosophical dimensions and implications of integral theory. Dancing with Sophia is the first book of essays to focus on the philosophical dimensions and implications of integral theory. A metatheory that organizes first order theories and disciplines into higher order modes of knowing and insight needed to address the complexity of today's world, integral theory has already impacted a wide range of disciplines, from psychology to business to religious studies to art. Included here are perspectives by scholars in the continental, comparativist, and process traditions who dive into integral theory's postmetaphysical claims in order to mine, extend, and critique its philosophical merits. On the verge of its own emergence, integral philosophy promotes modes of creative critical thought oriented toward the multidimensional flourishing of planetary well-being, and Dancing with Sophia will be of interest to scholars in philosophy; religious studies; transpersonal, developmental, and humanist psychology; and more.
