The New Testament volumes in the Catholic Commentary on Sacred Scripture series (CCSS) have been widely acclaimed. The series now includes readable yet substantive Old Testament commentaries that integrate the best of contemporary biblical scholarship with the traditional understanding of the Old Testament books as prophesying and prefiguring Christ. In Genesis, respected scholar and popular speaker Mary Healy offers a detailed yet accessible interpretation of each passage of Genesis. She opens up the incomparable riches of this book as the beginning of the story of salvation and the foundation of biblical doctrines concerning God, creation, human nature, sexuality and marriage, sin, and God's covenant with Israel. Drawing on Christian tradition, she shows how types and foreshadowing in Genesis point forward to the fulfillment of God's plan in Christ. Written from a standpoint of faith in the Holy Spirit's inspiration of Scripture, CCSS Old Testament commentaries are designed for preaching, teaching, and applying Scripture to Christian life today. General editors for the series are Mary Healy (Sacred Heart Major Seminary), Mark Giszczak (Augustine Institute), and Peter S. Williamson (Sacred Heart Major Seminary).

Foundational Teaching from a Charismatic Healing Minister and a Catholic ScholarInternational healing minister Randy Clark teams up with Mary Healy, a respected Catholic scholar, to show not only that the gifts of the Spirit still exist today, but that they are not optional; they are the necessary tools God has given for both building his Church and spreading the Gospel. With wisdom and practical insight, Clark and Healy walk you through biblical texts, dispel misconceptions, and show that there is an endless variety of gifts. They also show how the gifts are not just for a select few, but distributed freely by the Holy Spirit among believers. After laying this foundation, the authors reveal how you can activate the gifts in your own life and use them to benefit others. In this hurting world, you can give people more than just a message--you can help usher them into an encounter with God.
