BAD BOSS is a zany, fictional satire written as a first person business diary of Sherman Flunknerd, as he journals his first days and weeks on his new job as a chemical plant manager. Sherman is a bad boss...no, a horrible boss...who actually believes he is a good boss, while thinking the rest of the bosses of the world are terrible. The story is full of humor, sarcasm, and jokes as we delve into the thinking and crazy perspectives of this character. Sherman faces a critical (and funny) crisis which impacts his ability to do his job effectively, and the solution he attempts is equally funny. BAD BOSS is a fun read, and includes a number of hilarious cartoons to add to the enjoyment.

Alice faces despair and occasional rapture as she struggles with simultaneously real and hallucinated relationships, including a tumultuous romance with her co-worker David, and an escalating war with her supervisor Fran. In lyrical prose, Bridge exposes a raw, brilliant, and furious mind as it treads the jagged terrain of mental illness, murder, and suicide--to be or not to be. Robert Thomas is the author of Door to Door (2002, Fordham University Press), selected by Yusef Komunyakaa as winner of the Poets Out Loud Prize, as well as Dragging the Lake (2006, Carnegie Mellon University Press). A 36-year-old housewife presents in the emergency department complaining of progressively increasing breathlessness over the last two weeks, accompanied by wheeze and a productive cough. You are the medic on duty...100 Cases in Radiology presents 100 radiological anomalies commonly seen by medical students and junior doctors on the ward, in outpatient clinics or in the emergency department. A succinct summary of the patient's history, examination and initial investigations, including imaging photographs, is followed by questions on the diagnosis and management of each case. The answer includes a detailed discussion of each topic, with further illustration where appropriate, providing an essential revision aid as well as a practical guide for students and junior doctors. Making clinical decisions and choosing the best course of action is one of the most challenging and difficult parts of training to become a doctor. FIRST PRIZE WINNER OF THE SLS BIRKS PRIZE FOR OUTSTANDING LEGAL SCHOLARSHIP 2011How are we to assess and evaluate the quality of the tribunal systems that do the day-to-day work of adjudicating upon the disputes individuals have with government? This book examines how the idea of adjudicative quality works in practice by presenting a detailed case-study of the tribunal system responsible for determining appeals lodged by foreign nationals who claim that they will be at risk of persecution or ill-treatment on return to their country of origin. Over recent years, the asylum appeal process has become a major area of judicial decision-making and the most frequently restructured tribunal system. Asylum adjudication is also one of the most difficult areas of decision-making in the modern legal system. Integrating empirical research with legal analysis, this book provides an in-depth study of the development and operation of this tribunal system and of asylum decision-making. The book examines how this particular appeal process seeks to mediate the tension between the competing values under which it operates. There are chapters examining the organisation of the tribunal system, its procedures, the nature of fact-finding in asylum cases and the operation of onward rights of challenge. An examination as to how the tensions inherent in the idea of administrative justice are manifested in the context of a tribunal system responsible for making potentially life or death decisions, this book fills a gap in the literature and will be of value to those interested in administrative law and asylum adjudication.
