Moving, political and unafraid, Queer Plays Volume One brings together eight vital works by Scottish playwrights whose voices have helped shape—and challenge—contemporary theatre. Spanning 50 years of queer Scottish theatre, styles and theatrical forms, these plays explore identity, desire, family, faith, friendship, politics, memory and belonging with wit, urgency and heart. From intimate acts of self-revelation to sharp comedy, mythic reinvention and queer resistance, this anthology captures the richness and range of LGBTQ+ Scottish drama. Published with the support of the Scottish Society of Playwrights, this landmark collection is a celebration of queer lives on stage. Foreword by Alan Cumming.
